A Light in the Dark:
The cover for Book Three is finally ready to reveal. It is comprised of two original oil paintings that have been combined to create a single cover image.
Images without the Text:
Torrin Channelling the Power of the Great Winged One:
This painting was completed last year with the goal to have it somehow be a part of the cover for Book Three. In order to have it fit and create space above for the titles, I imported the image of the original painting into photoshop and added space at the top and sides. I used mostly the clone tool to copy colours and extend the impression of his wings. (see below)
Extended version:
Below is the version with his wings extended and more space surrounding him... I ended up removing the title while working on the final image of both Torrin and Rowan.
The Painting of Rowan:
I haven't actually finished this painting but decided to bring it into the file with Torrin to see how she would look. In the end I just kept working on it in Photoshop to finish it as a digital image.
I will definitely complete the painting because I want to get her armor done with more detail. Photoshop is fun because I can adjust size and scale, but ultimately I want to have an actual oil painting of her.
Final composite:
Torrin got moved over several times to make his wings centered on the book title to frame it. The flames in the original painting were also removed so the magic emanating from Rowan was what illuminated some of his armor.
